Beyond the Mask: How My Tragedy Sparked an Incredible Life

As a young firefighter, Brian Walsh had so much to look forward to—then, in an instant, caught in a burning building where everything went wrong, he found himself clinging to life, his face burned beyond recognition. As he began to heal, loved ones encouraged him to pursue a career and life that would keep him largely hidden.

Brian chose another route. He chose not to let that tragedy destroy him, and instead used it to create a magnificent life—both personally and professionally. At twenty-six, Brian Walsh co-founded Walsh & Nicholson Financial Group, which today serves over 1,000 clients in wealth management, estate and retirement planning, and more.

No matter how big or small, challenges make you mentally stronger and resilience is a life skill and leadership quality that everyone should cultivate.

By sharing his own experiences, Brian will help you cultivate this vital skill as he explores:

  • How to find your resolve when the initial anxiety and uncertainty after a setback may be preventing you from moving on.
  • Why trusting yourself and what you see helps you reclaim the power over your own life choices.
  • Why you must reach out to others and nurture “foxhole friends” you can count on.
  • How insurance and financial services professionals can grow stronger and find opportunity in these uncertain times.
